Camera data

Hi friends out there! I just wonder if anyone knows how to delete or control the data, that comes along with a digital photo like: date, year, camera etc..
Quite annoying when you want to publish on a website. At least I’ll like to have some control!
I can’t find anywhere in Photoshop.
Also there might be data like what Photoshop you use and so, on.
Maybe someone knows how to change this?

You mean those red/yellow numbers at the corner of a photo?

These can be removed in CAMERA settings and are not generated by photoshop. You could allways use photoshop to remove them, but it's way easyer to change your camera settings than remove them separate from every image. Good luck.

Thanks I see what you mean!, but if you just hold your mouse over an image you can see all the data there, and if you open in photoshop you can even see what photoshop you use. I think the picture use some space for data and also P.S. But where?

I think you mean the EXIF data...

I use this program to modify EXIF data on my photo images because some of the programs i use don't keep the EXIF data intact and I find months later that I need it and it's gone...

This program also allows you to backup the EXIF data and then reattach it to the image once you are finished with it.

Exifer for Windows

It is a small and free download (at least it was when I got it).

There are also a number of plug-ins for Photoshop that allow you to edit EXIF data but i seldome have a need to edit it, only restore it so I don't have first hand experience with these.

Also, Paintshop Pro 8.0 and maybe later version allow you to edit the EXIF data directly.

Hope this has been helpful! Good Luck!

Mike.

Thanks Mike for the info! I had no idea that it´s called EXIF.
I will have a look at Exifer, and later try to find a plugin for P.S
Thanks again.

Regarding digital camera data, I have a question. How is the data stored in the image fileto determine whether it was taken in landscape or portrait mode. I have a digital picture frame for some images it automatically rotates the pictures and for some I have to manually rotate it. Is there any setting on the camera I need to make sure is set?

It depends on the camera. I know mine has an Auto-Rotate function that you can turn on or off. What camera do you have?
