Warcraft anyone?

Hiya!

I don't know if any of you have ever heard of a computer stratergy/role-playing game called Warcraft (the site is www.blizzard.com/war3), but on one of the expansion packs there's an image of a human (ish) man on the box cover, who is partly ice.

Now if you haven't seen it, I don't think you would be able to comment (or you could look at the website, then comment), but do you think this image would be able to be re-created with photoshop or with another similar program? And mostly, can you get this from a photo, because i doubt i can create a human face from scratch myself in any program?

Ahhh, you mean this guy, yes? I'm afraid that no tutorials exist on creating this effect, but I imagine its somewhat akin to icicle text. i.e. http://www.infinitedesigns.org/index.php?cat_id=1&id=18 - all you need to do is add the icicles to perhaps a solid-colour fill of your object (i.e. the guys face), and then skillfully mask out everything but the needed icicles. It should work on a high resolution just fine.

Its a pretty excellent idea for a tutorial actually! I'll add it to my book of good ideas, and if someone wants to make a detailed tutorial on the effect i'll be VERY happy to publish it!

I think he was talkin not only about the ice effect but for the entire head of the guy... Everything is possible but for this one, u must be an expert and have time to work on each detail...

there are some programs, such as Poser, that give a lot of control on human body 3D modeling an rendering. Perhaps, the base of the image you're talking about is some kind of rendering, painted in Painter-style programs and given depth through Photoshop (the Painter passage is actually unnecessary, but it seems to me that in this case it has been used ^_^).

Hey,about Poser,do you have any tutorial on how to use it??just a basic,i have it installed on my Computer,when i launch it the 1st time,theres a man standing,i`ve doing around but he cant move,his legs always point to the first position event i let him flying up.
