    relocated to Las Vegas area in 1999 to follow career prospects.

    ooooold pentium 3 with 256 meg of ram and a 20 gb hard drive (laugh if you must) the only thing super in my system was the sony trinitron 24 inch widescreen monitor. and that's currently dead.

    oh and i have a soundblaster pro card that i have hooked up to a jvc cassette tape head unit so that i may record and backup onto cd's my old cassettes and lp's

    camera specs. sony mavica cd-500 with lots of lenses.
    a macro lens stack that can see hairs on an ant.
    and a homemade riflescope attachment for an effective optical zoom of 36X

ok so today I upgraded my work pc to xp from 2000
the install didnt take.
I reinstalled and now its a dual boot. one that works and cant find the network, printer, plotter, or web.
and one that wont boot. all my programs are on the boot folder that wont boot. theyre there but wont run because the dlls wont load.
no data was lost but i gotta manually config all the connections because our network is ooold and has static ip addys. and no one knows the passwords for admin....

At our house we have a birdfeeder for the sparrows and finches. they are kinda fun to watch, especially when the fledglings first start to organize some order of feeder dominance.
the seed husks I cold do without, but thats not the point of todays rambling.

We have a pair (at least) of desert dove that unlike most of the others, seem to want to come in our house. they dont fly in, just wander in like a pigeon and look around like they are gonna move in or something.

our computer plotter is acting up at work. or, at least i think its the plotter. prints autocad files fine but ask it to print a pdf from reader or acrobat and whoa: things get all stoopid.
it spools the files and then freezes up. have to use taskmanager and close acrobat. then it prints fine.
but the title blocks won't print. (on the small printer they will and it dosent freeze up.)

I think its a bad driver file.

I'm not all that happy with it because...

moods' post inspired me to write this rather that hijack her blog with all my ramblings.

I just finished with my pc spring cleaning ritual of blowing out the whole thing with compressed air (cringe if you must but im talking about high volume air, not that crap in a can! the air compressor in my garage has a moisture filter so I dont have to worry about spritzing condensation all over my board) gently blowing off everything inside and making sure to really spend some quality time...

well, due to financial constraints, I will not be able to go online for a while.

and if that wasnt good enough as well, the company that i work for will be implementing a firewall soon and i wont be able to come here from work.

my camera is busted, the cat knocked it off a shelf the other day. I will buy another one later.

my kid corrupted my harddrive last night. all files gone!!!!!
does anyone know how to smother a teenager without making it...
