It's been ten years since my last eye test. My husband decided after watching me hold small print at arms length (embarrassing at a restaurant) that it was time to go again. Today I'm wearing my new glasses with no-line Bi-Focals. I feel so old. I can't see anything. That's not exactly true, I can see ... but if it's not directly in the center of the lens, it's blurry as hell! Assuming, of course, that hell is blurry. If you don't move your head, but try to look left or right it's all blur...

I love my RX7 - I've posted about it many times.
.... However ....
An opportunity to get a 1983 Porsche 944 has come up - at a good price - and I wanted everyone's opinion.
I do know that they need regular maintenance (new timing belt and water pump at about every 45,000 miles) and they basically need a new clutch at about each 55,000. This is all well and good, but each item is very expensive, for example the clutch could reach $1500 - $2000 alone. The...

Going to the Dogs
The gate was left open. It took all of 10 seconds for my hounds to notice and bolt. Instead of going to the left, which is the way we go when we take walks (on a leash) they went right, which takes them to a very busy 4 lane. Greyhounds don't know about cars and traffic - they know running.
As they made their way down the street they ignored the frantically barking dogs. I guess freedom was more important than olfactory satisfaction. My husband went after them on foot. I...

Just the Everyday
Robert Fripp has decided to do one more tour with King Crimson. This band will include the primo drummer, Gavin Harrison, from Porcupine Tree - as well as the insane talents of Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto and Adrian Belew. Awesome lineup.
I love King Crimson. Just thought I'd mention that.
They just finished rehearsing here in N'ville (Fripp stays at Belew's house which is just down the road. And yes, we watched the local Starbucks to see if we could catch Fripp...

On the Job
Over the past several months my Mac (iMac G5) has been acting up. Programs began to crash and load / close very slowly, opening or saving a large file could take up to 3 minutes, the fan would be working overtime, the external firewire drive would drag (and I do mean drag). As time went on, my keyboard wouldn't be recognized on boot-up and I'd have to unplug/plug it back in every time (I blamed the Microsh*t keyboard). Then last Friday the damn thing booted all the way to the desktop then it...
