“Real Life Artists” – Exhibiting in Second Life

Real Life Artists” – Exhibiting in Second Life

Second Life is a virtual community, existing of millions of people worldwide.

In this virtual world several events are organized where community members meet each other. These events vary from in-world parties with live music streams, over in-world gaming to exhibitions of real world artists.

Our in-world location, called “Da Vinci Isle”, is one of the locations where these exhibitions are held. As a real life artist, you may use our exhibition halls for free, giving you a unique opportunity to show your art all around the world.

Which kinds of art can be exhibited at our isle?

-Paintings/Drawings/Pictures: These kinds of art only need to be uploaded to Second Life, and once they are uploaded, you’re already almost finished. You can choose to display them like you uploaded them, or to design easels and frames to put them in.

-Poetry/Literature: Poetry and Literature is somewhat different. First you will have to make images containing the text using graphical software like eg. Photoshop. Afterwards these images have to be uploaded in order to display them in Second Life. Once in Second Life, you can display them in several ways; you can put them in a frame on the wall, or make an in-world book with them.

In both cases you can even sell your art in Second Life.

When desired, the Da Vinci Isle-team will be glad to help you out in order to make a nice exhibition of your work.

-Sculptures: This is a more difficult (but not impossible) kind of art to display in Second life. There are two possibilities: first of all you can take pictures of your sculptures and display these pictures, secondly you may choose to rebuild them in Second Life.

For all artists wanting to display their art in Second Life, the Da Vinci Isle has 4 in-world studios at their disposal. You can work there in a calm and private environment preparing your in-world exhibition, and you may always ask one of our in-world team members to lend you a hand.
