logo needed

Hey Fellas

My names Zac and i live in Australia.

i am currently looking for some1 to create me a logo for my shuffle crew which we will screen print on the back of our hoodies.

Design:

the design we are looking for is exactly like this (please not this is not what we want, its just the design we want)




instead of the letters phd, have the letters HSA and in white. we want the letters to form the shape of a circle like in the example. the letters do not have to be capital also.

and the font that i would like you to use is either a font similar to the example or a font similar to this one



pls remember to use white regardless of what font you use.

pls feel free to ask me about any questions you may wanna ask. your work will be MUCH Apreciated.

We don't. Normally. The thing is that you posted your topic under "The Marketplace". And almost everything under the marketplace is related to money (buy/sell). Good thing we have that clear. No money involved. I'm sure there will still be plenty of graphicans to "try out" the design for you

Hmm...maybe so, and if this request had come from a regular and time-served member of this forum I wouldn't have had a problem with it - there probably will be some amateur designers who would be willing to have a go at this for free to sharpen-up their own skills. Professional designers (of which we also have a number here) are not usually keen to undertake work for nothing - after all, this is their job. Either way, I don't think it's exactly polite to come onto a forum like this and immediately start asking for free work to be done. I mean, you wouldn't normally ask complete strangers to give you free money, goods or services, would you? Even a token offer of remuneration would "sugar the pill" a little.

Thanks for your understanding. Personally, I don't have an issue with doing stuff for free but then I'm not a professional artist/designer and I'm aware that some of those who are can be very offended by requests for free work (witness this site, for example: NO!SPEC )

Do you do any graphic work yourself? If you wanted to have a go at making a design yourself, I'm sure there'd be plenty of people here who would be willing to offer help and advice - for free, too!

Actually there isn't much to design here - that's why it's not attractive to me (I have nothing against doing some work for free/charity): the only thing one really needs to do is choose the font. Two questions though: Format of submission? Size of submission (resolution and size in pixels)?

There is a very similar font in the Resources section here, although there are dozens (maybe even hundreds) of similar "distressed" fonts available on the web - many for free. Additionally, you can always "distress" any font you want if it's on a type layer in Photoshop!

I know this is ranting a little bit, and if I wanted to I should post this on nospec. But this is for the people in our community here. I do some free work myself, but I am choosy and it's for close friends or things like the dedicated members of this community.

Consider that even though this logo would require little design skill cuz it is mostly text and can be whipped up in a few seconds. If you were to go to your mechanic for an oil change and say it'll only take a few minutes and ask why charge me? You'd get beat by a oily man with a wrench.

Since designers don't really carry wrenchs in our back pockets we can't do much to intimidate people...besides maybe to throw a computer at them. But what my point here is, that if we continue to offer up our services for free that the standard of payment is never going to change. It may not be a issue for some people, but when this work is paying off your student loans because you chose to follow this career path, or when it's buying your bread it's a scary thought.

Either offer to help the person create their logo they so desire, or be choosy about what you do for kicks. So I ask that you be proud of your talent and not jump at every opportunity to flex your creative muscles.

But anyways just think about it from a different point of view...and now I must go make bread money.
