Umm... Right. I'm sorry to say that most of the logos are not what i would call 'people can’t help but Look at' or 'eye-catching, distinctive, visually grabbing'. On 10 pages I found only a few that I could imagine as a logo for a cheap company. I found i think 1 that I actually liked. To tell the truth they all look pretty cheap to me. And 19$? Please. I wouldn't pay a buck for something that is made of some PS default layer blending options and squares...

True enough, turvas. I suspect most of the members of BioRUST could make their own logos that are at least as good as those on offer here.

lol my girlfriend was reading the name of the site through the logo, she's like igosarea sounds like "eyes goz areea"

rhymes with eyes+goz+diarrehea. I dunno if mixing the universal symbol for eye in your logo is the right kind of message you want to say, when you come to logos unless it's directly associating eyes/vision., etc.

and the "L" looks like an "i" anyways, just my initial thoughts on it.

Wow! You guys are harsh...

I gotta say, a lot of the designs in the portfolio are elementally and visually sound... all in all i thought it was a pretty good collection of logos, ESPECIALLY for $19...

That said, no pre-made logo can truly reflect a company or product's image properly... it's always best to custom design (or have it custom designed).

But that's where the money is... summarizing and communicating a company effectively through a visual medium takes a lot of thought and effort....

Still, for cookie cutter busineses (especially e-businesses) ready-made is a quick, easy, super-cheap alternative... but of course, 97% of them fail in the first 24 months.

Oh, and it does look like Igosarea :P

Mike.

You get what you pay for is about all any of us can say. In general these sites are not really marketing to the likes of Biorust members, and it kills the idea of promoting good design.

Either way, more power to them for putting together a website of clipart logos for those who like that sort of thing.

I hope you know, Mike, that money and the amounts of it in cycle differs in different parts of the world? 19$might be just a little pocket money for you. But I get like how much... *calculating* 7$ pocketmoney for a month + all i can scrape together on some wierd method. Guess it's the thing of the east-europe block. And you know what? With that 7$+ I can manage pretty fine for a month.

I don't know how to respond to that Turvas, other than to use a frame of reference...

Here in Canada, you can't buy lunch for two people with $19... You can't take a girl to a movie on Friday night for $19... you can't put 1/2 tank of gas in your car for $19, and you can't visit the Metro Toronto Zoo for $19 (as i painfully learned this weekend).

That said, if you have spare time, you should never pay anything for something you can do yourself. ESPECIALLY, if it's creating the image that will represent your company to the world!

Mike.

Crikey! $7 here is the equivalent of a sandwich (an average one, not a fancy one), and a can of coke!!! Maybe this logo fella is drawing logos for his lunch?

Thumbs down

Don't expect this person to read your responses, they have spammed at least 5 other forums with the same post - on the same day.

I remember the days that I could get by on $7 or so a week. It helps to have mom and dad to pay for food and such.

Considering that I have to work half the month in a decent paying job just to pay for my mortgage now, you could say some things have changed.

Guess that the amounts of money really do differ that much...
