Request - Picture problem

Well, Im not too great at cutting out pictures and blending them to make them as one. Well, these two pictures

I need the pic with my son thats alone, to be in place of him in the pic thats with the three of us.. yeah dont laugh i have a fat face and im not too pretty looking but anyways.. i need this to be our christmas card.. otherwise.. i dont know. we could never get a good enough pic with the three of us.. but yeah. heres what i came up with and im not that satisfied with it..

Id be greatly appreciated if someone could do this for me. and if not thats fine. Ill maybe settle for the one I made or our christmas card might just be the one with my son. Thanks.. I appreciate it..

Ok if no one can or will help which I dont mind, please take a look at the picture I did and tell me if you can see that i replaced.. which you can a little.. or if itd be good enough..? i mean their christmas cards and im sure no one would kinda care but i do.. or what i can do to make it look like i didnt do something to it.. what tools i can use to make it look good.. let me know.. thanks

I may be able to take a shot at it today. The shapes between the two seem a little bit tough, but it can probably be done.

Well, all you need, and can, do is use ctrl+t (free transform) and make the baby a little bigger. The baby in the picture with the parents is bigger than the baby on the stool. So just make it were you can't see both babies and it'll look much much better.

but if I make the other picture bigger (the one with him alone) wont it get pixelated?

Pixelation probably won't be enough to effect picture quality if you only make him big enough to cover himself in the picture now.

Turns out this was a bit more difficult than I thought. Did my best with it. Here is a first version. I can probably still change it some it you see something. It's kinda hard in this case to manage with the size difference compared to the positions.

edit: The attached image is at quality setting 10, I can send you a 12 quality if you happen to want it.

couple of quick fixes i did...

played with the brightness and contrast a bit to match closer...

fixed a couple minor things...like the light switch and what not...

blurred the edges of the child a bit to blend him a little less harshly, and also gave him a drop shadow onto the man's face...to add a little realistic depth...

i didnt have time to do much, but hopefully it helps...feel free to use, or not use...if i get more time, i might work on it from the two originals (these edits were done from one of the "done" pics"

i threw up a quick vignette on it, just to show you what it might look like...

there's also a desaturated/almost sepia copy...which i think also helps disguise the change...(i also spot healed some other stuff in this one...like below the eyes, brightened the teeth and white parts of the eyes, etc)
