Of course I'm going to carry on attempting to save energy and recycle as much as I can - but that is because I want to try and save a bit of money and I don't like wasting stuff; in the face of the combined activity of nations like the US and China the efforts of the individual mean next to nothing.
Sorry if I sound cynical. Once upon a time (in my youth) I was filled with zeal for all sorts of causes but I guess I've just seen too many news reports and read too many history books.

yeah.... what he said
seriously, I am all for bettering mankind and the world but sometimes people just need to be realistic and quit smoking those pipe dreams of world peace and a total green society which doesn't leave a footprint were it steps because it takes more than one city, one county, one state, one nation, one continent, or one hemisphere to accomplish most of these miracles.
maybe this... this idea that changes will only work if unified as one... the world makes a change... this is the idea of that conspiracy about the one world government that is coming and being planned behind the scenes
