When has that ever happened in the history of humankind?
Of course I'm going to carry on attempting to save energy and recycle as much as I can - but that is because I want to try and save a bit of money and I don't like wasting stuff; in the face of the combined activity of nations like the US and China the efforts of the individual mean next to nothing.
Sorry if I sound cynical. Once upon a time (in my youth) I was filled with zeal for all sorts of causes but I guess I've just seen too many news reports and read too many history books.
yeah.... what he said

seriously, I am all for bettering mankind and the world but sometimes people just need to be realistic and quit smoking those pipe dreams of world peace and a total green society which doesn't leave a footprint were it steps because it takes more than one city, one county, one state, one nation, one continent, or one hemisphere to accomplish most of these miracles.

maybe this... this idea that changes will only work if unified as one... the world makes a change... this is the idea of that conspiracy about the one world government that is coming and being planned behind the scenes

Tamlin- I dont see your view so much as cynical, more realistic.
where I live in Las Vegas area, we are next to a giant man made resivoir (lake mead)
filled by the colorado river and held back by hoover dam. the thing is, the lake is drying up. drout conditions and the fact that the water goes to vegas and california is using up more than can be replenished. and yet here in vegas, Growth continues at a rampant pace. being semi involved in the construction industry puts me in a hard place, I do not want to see more houses. I do not want to loose any more of the natural landscape. but if all growth stops, I would probably be out of work. yes, I could find other work and if I had my choice of my current job, or no new growth it would be for no growth.
will mankind ever get it together and fix everything? i dont know, I am just hoping that we can keep it together without destroying ourselves until after im gone. Maybe our children will have a better answer.

I am making a mental note to myself... don't accept gifts from Dave if I end up in a medical center... they probably won't let it anyhow

speaking of "wet" hehe... this last online banner I did for an advertiser surprisingly got some of the best click-through rates of any banners on our companies site... not sure why though

not my concept really... the rep originally wanted me to cartoon a girl in bikini jumping up and down but... my cartooning skills take time to get anything worth using and was short on time... so I compromised
