alt+4 dosent give me anything. I think its my computers way of telling me my 10 cents dont matter.

Not alt + 4 ... but the "middle" key + 4. Mine says "start" on the left and some funky printer looking symbol on the right ... but it's the middle key between control and alt. ... and 4.

Sorry STM, it was a centsless effort on my part. I'm on a Mac but I'm using a Micros*it keyboard (because it's black and has the funky bent and angled keyboard).

STM: I meant to say "Alt Gr + 4" for the Euro symbol (Alt Gr is the key to the right of the spacebar on a MS keyboard). Alt+4 doesn't do anything on my keyboard, either.

However, for fun you might want to investigate Alt+xxxx (where x is a number on your number pad). Alt+0162 gets me a cent symbol: ¢
You can get some really funky characters with those combinations:

For me, it's alt 4, because that's also the dollar sign. I figured out a lot of the odd characters from typing out algebra homework. Fun times.
