out here, when it comes to mystery meals, there is the jobsite lunch trucks.
(roach coaches as thay are commonly known) where you can get a fairly decent burrito or taco for a reasonable price especially since it comes to you. some of the trucks make a pretty decent burger with grilled onions too.
I practice the dont ask, dont tell policy.
if I dont ask whats in it, they dont tell me whats in it.
its probably better that way.

Hehe, yeah I know that kind of fast food supply lines
There are a few of those driving around the streets here, most of them sell kebab chips or something alike (yesterday I had an encounter with one that sold Vietnamese egg rolls).
I must say that I only eat stuff from those vans that has been fried first, and than I mean fried in my presence

yeah, at least then you know that most of the germs are at least cooked!
for a good variety of eats though nothing ive seen can compete with the barfetts (pronounced bar-fay, its my little play on words instead of buf-fay (buffet)) here at las vegas.
lots of different things to try.

Unleash... cool idea but unfortunately... I am just lucky to afford a typical box computer. Most likely I will take my older Mac which still works (sort of) and setup in there and just hook up a LCD screen to it.
Will post up a link here if I ever get time to finish the database

I think its overprized at the moment, but microsoft promissed to release something alike. So the prices for those things will probably drop in the coming months. There are different companys that sell things alike, I just cant remember there names

congrats to the winner... didn't seem like a lot of voting though
as a suggestion... I think the battles in progress and waiting for votes should show up on the front page somehow for more exposure and maybe more interest. This one disappeared as soon as the slots filled. Heck, I didn't even realize it was still on until I did some searching. Just a thought.

Im there with you,

last I heard was in his blog.
kinda worried me for a bit but its probably the work of moving talking.
moving from apt to house is a-lot of work so, i'm not expecting to see him around here much for a while.
packing, moving, unpacking, throwing away all the boxes, setting up or transferring utilities and services. re arranging furniture, cleaning......
oh yeah, and now theres yard work that can/should be done....
best to not make him feel too guilty about not being here. he probably has more things to do than there are minutes in a day.
take your time M0g.
we will still be here later.

Hey everyone (except turvas) sorry I have been gone for a while. Running for president takes a lot of my time now. VOTE!! Actually my computer came down with a nasty virus and it took me a while to repair it. It seems the new topic is food, Indian food is something in short supply over here in Hawaii, it's hard to find anything authentic over here except oriental cousine. It seems that everything over here has coconut or pineapple or macademia nuts. Not to mention spam and mac salad that are the main staple over here. Not really quite that bad but I am missing the full spectrum of food varieties. I asked one of my co-workers where I could get some good mexican and he replied "taco bell is just down the street" He was not jokeing. I'm hungry

lol
In Texas, we get just about everything, especially good Mexican. My only complaint is that Cheeburger Cheeburger is in Auburn, not Dallas. Best burger, amazing selection of shakes. It's like a Fuddrucker's and a Braum's on steroids in one shop.

that's funny... I had heard Spam was a big thing in Hawaii but thought that was just a joke. I don't know anyone that eats Spam in the continental states anymore. I suppose it might good with some fresh pineapple but never ate it myself.
Here in Ohio... we are getting a nice selection of Mexican restaurants now. I think part of it is the increase in the Mexican locals here which has also brought more Latin based clothing and thrift stores. Odd thing is I discovered what I used to think was authentic Mexican food was actually more Tex Mex or Southwest Mex... where the authentic Mexican is actually a little more on the bland side.

I have a friend that i have known for 23 years that now lives in Ewa Beach KOKO,
I will ask him if he has any reccomendations for goood mexican. as he grew up in california and lived in nevada for a while, he can tell the difference between taco bell and real mexican food.

Well, I haven't got problems with my food supply down here...but that is probably because of the "multi-cultural" society thing here....
Anyway, im sorry I cant help you out with the restaurant thing...but maybe you can make it yourself. I searched for some Mexican recipes the other day and some where really simple(and really tasty as well )
I hope you get your hands on some good Mexican food! Its really, really tasty! Especially if you are into the more "hot" foods You off course can make it as hot as you want, but the Mexicans tend to put a lot of pepper in their food.
