It's Me, Dear Friends

Hey all,

Well I was going to act like I've always been here but my profile would have given me up eventually, so I'm going to announce myself as a newb to this site.

A little about me: I've been working with photo manipulation for over 10 years, however I've only been working with the real Photoshop for about 3 years. Before that time, I was using what ever I could get my hands on. It all started with some freebie that came with a pack of glossy print paper back when I was 13 or so. I did a few things with it and have been hooked ever since.

By day, I am a college graduate with a degree in computer networking (mainly Cisco equipment and server management)... soon to be a network administrator hopefully.

By night, I am a meddling manipulator of media. I use my talent for good mostly, but I've been known to trash the precious moments of those that dare to place them in a public gallery, only if they deserve it though.

I am an active member of Fark.com, though I have yet to take first in a photoshop contest. I will eventually though.

I've also won one award so far; a Palm Treo 700P, a generous gift from Maxim magazine for designing a Snakes On A Plane poster that they can use over and over. Is that "selling out"? Either way, it was an honor to recieve something for my work.

Other than that... I am here to grow with you all and gain further experience in this field. It is my passion, my life's blood, and my greatest pleasure in the world. I hope to learn a lot from the people here and who knows, maybe I'll teach some of you a few things as well.

Wow, that's quite the introduction! Welcome, and congrats on the Maxim thing. The way I see it is you got paid (albeit in a prize not money) for producing something for a nationally published magazine. There's nothing "selling out" about that.

Unless of course the devil now has your soul for it. In which case, i think you shot a little low on that one.

Yes, you've sold out and do not deserve your prize... please forward it to me immediately and I will dispose of it in a suitable fashion.
