Learning to draw...

Hello BioRUSTers,

I'm interested in learning to draw.

I was hoping you guys could provide me with any resources you have that can teach the fundamentals of drawing. I have little experience, so I need to start with the basics.

Thanks in advance!

Alex

I'll begin by saying I'm probably the least qualified person to comment on this, as I can't draw to save my life, but here are a few sites that you might find useful:

Learn to draw.com, learn how to draw online!

Learn to Draw

Learn to Draw Anything with Ease and Confidence

You might also pick up a pointer or two from this old thread:

Need Drawing Help

Don't worry Tamlin, I'm no better, but you have to start somewhere!

Looks like I should talk to Kenneth or Nancy!

For anyone who is also looking for something like this, I ended up pretty happy with the deviantART "Art Tutorials" thread. Awesome thread full of great info on traditional art fundamentals, and more.

I might create a thread full of all the resources I've found relating to this subject for this forum, actually. Would make a great sticky.

Hi Alex! haven't seen Nanc around here for a long time.
If you need any assistance I would be pleased to help! But you know, how to draw is like to learn how to play an instrument, you will have to practice for years.
as you know some people are tone deaf and some are not, I believe its the same in art.
I've been trying for some time now (about 30 years?) and I'm still learning how to draw
but I love this new media. I suggest you to try Corel painter, works very well with Photoshop and of course to use a (wacom) pen tablet.
