How to make the text align with picture next to it?

Can anyone help me with this matter please..
How to align the text so that it will automatically align with the side of an image placed next to it.. I've seen this a lot in magazine.

And is it can only be done in adobe illustrator? Can photoshop do this?
Thanks.

Is the image in the attachment what you want to achieve? Because the text isn't "aligned" with the shape - the text is cut off where it goes "behind" the shape. This is easy to do in Photoshop:
  1. Enter your text on a layer
  2. Make a transparent layer above the text layer
  3. On this layer, draw your shape
  4. Add a thick stroke to the shape layer, the same colour as your background

If you actually want the end of the lines of text to "butt up" to the shape (without being cut off), that's probably something you'll need to do in Illustrator.

OK - I found this tutorial that might give you some ideas about how to do it in Photoshop:

How to fit text inside shapes in Adobe Photoshop

Attached is an example I just made by following this tut.

I still think you're probably better off doing this in Illustrator, though.

Thanks tamlin...I didnt know it can be done in cs2...because im using photoshop 7.
I feel like cs2 is not user friendly but now I have to learn to use it since it has many benefits...

Well, I think inDesign would be much better. It actually has a text wrap tool that you can use, which will automatically wrap text around whichever object you attach the tool to.
