Sketching software with graphics pen

I am new to the digital sketching world and have a Trust 1200 graphics tablet and pen. The tablet claims to be pressure sensitive, which is what I wanted for sketching.

The question is - what graphics software is available which supports this pressure sensitive use?

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

CJ

Congrats on your tablet, hope you enjoy! Lots of graphics software now support pressure sensitive use. These are the ones that I use and are familiar with; Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDraw, Painter. I know that there are many more, someone else I'm sure can direct you to them.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I use Photoshop 6, but it doesn't seem to respond to the pressure sensitivity. Do I need to set something up in photoshop to get it to work?

Thanks again,

CJ

Make certain that you have made the necessary changes in your brush dynamic menu. As I said, I use PS7, when I select my brush tool and open my brush option palette, I go to the first section, which for me is Shape Dynamics. I am offered a control drop-down menu for Size Jitter, Angle Jitter, and Roundness Jitter. Included in the drop-down is an option to select Pen Pressure, which is what I do.

Go through each of the sections and make the appropriate drop-down selections. Other sections you should check are Scattering, Color Dynamics, and Other Dynamics.

CJ once those are set you should be able to gain control of your pen. If your tablet came with a manual or a web site URL, check those out as well. Hope this helps.----bedlam

Genius!

You are a genius! I didn't notice a small brush icon to the extreme right of the bar which does all that I want. I was looking into paying for upgrading the software till I found that.

Can't thank you enough for the help.

Regards

CJ
