My advice is to actually try one before you buy. I bought an A4 artpad myself, but found that its method of working was totally alien to me, and sold it on a few weeks ago...

0$ - 350$ maybe, would be using it for photoshop, I feel that it's hard to get it smooth with the mouse sometimes,´drawing overall feels cind of hard.

Well, the best is undoubtedly the Wacom Intuos 3 series of art pads. Get the biggest that you can afford. It takes some getting used to the feel of it (I never managed it), but its features are by far the best on the market...

If you meant physical-paper-non-computer sketch pads I could help you.

But I think you're talking about computer tablets and despite owning one I really have no info on that. All I can say is search on Google and such for awhile, for different thing and maybe you'll fins what you want.

I had a Wacom Graphire when they were new -- and I never got the hang of it. I think it would have been different if it were larger, but I kept drawing out of the 4x5" area. It was only $99 - what can you expect? If I had all of the money in the world, I would definitely go for one of the newer tablets that have an LCD in it, so you literally draw on what looks like the screen. I think that would be ideal... Gotta go win the lottery... =(

Ahhhh - I had the opposite problem with the A4 pad... I needed massive arm swings to get from one end of the monitor screen to the other! I know what you mean about the new Cintiq ones where you can draw on the screen, though - they are absolutely DREAMY! With an equally otherworldly price tag too! :/

At work we had the Wacom Intuos pads. For certain things, like really tight detail work they were wonderful, but it was still nice to have a mouse for clicking around.

OMG I'm really, like, broke, and though I'm sick of drawing with the mouse, I don't have money to get a tablet. Care to donate, anyone? :P

Im using a Wacom tablet too...but having a REALLY hard time getting used to the fact that my brush moves across the screen (alhough it doesnt paint) without actually touching it to the pad....

I would definantely recommend trying one out before you actually go out and buy one (even if its a different model) because They seem to work well for some and poorly for others.....
