Gallery PHP

I have downloaded several freeware scripts for my art and photo section of my website. Since those sites generally assumed you knew what you were doing, I was wondering if I could ask a couple questions regarding it.

(1) Can I use one version for multiple pages? Or does that depend on the script? I have three different galleries I need (3 different trees, really) and I was wondering if I could use the script for all the different trees.

(2) Can you manipulate HOW the gallery looks in any way? They are in general really plain.

(3) If not yes to #2, can you EMBED the gallery into an existing page? That would be optimal to the Nth degree, would really really love that if I could.

I am /SO/ willing to learn. But I do better talking and listening than reading, so I'm slower this way. If anyone is really really really willing to help me out, I can give you access to some of my files so you can take a look and we can talk over IMs

Code like this, in general, makes my head hurt. I'm more artistic than mathematically inclined. I can learn, but it isn't instinctual for me.

Anyway would just love some help in getting these questions answered so I know where to go from here.

Yes.

I'm sure the people who know PHP better than me will be able to correct me if I am wrong.

All your questions really depends on what gallery script you use. If you are prepared to fiddle around a bit setting it up, the best one is Gallery at http://gallery.menalto.com/ - its extremely flexible, very powerful, and can be quite daunting (at least at first).

I can go download it tomorrow, as hubby is on the puter with Dreamweaver right now and I can't get to it.

What do you mean by daunting?? Generally, if it can accomplish what I want, I will jump just about any hurdle to get it. I'm stubborn that way.

This is what I want: On my page http://www.aequinox.com/images/aeq_artjpg.jpg Go look at it to see what I mean I want:

On the top, if you click on a tab of an artist, I want the thumbnails to be listed along the bottom half of the grey space below the line break. with << >> arrows for previous, next without changing the main page.

I have a GUT feeling this can be done, probably because I've see pages with it... hehe

But that is what I want, how my site is set up in my head, and I will do just about anything to get that result.

Now, CAN that be done?

If you say yes, then I will do just about anything to learn how. Count me in as 100% willing and able to learn.

Teach me, Yoda

I am so excited to learn how to do this I am actually like, feeling anticipation and butterflies. It is how I feel when I am ready to create something, so feeling this way about 'code' is new and exciting!!

It can be done its just finding a script that can be modified to that extent, I'll have a look round see what I can find becuase I'm interested in using one of these for my next site.

Awesome. I am going to try and fiddle with some of the ones I downloaded but honestly there has to be hundreds of scripts available, I was /so/ surprised to have found so many.
