Centering In Window

I can't get this centering to work right, I've tried div align, absolute values, and the center html tag.

The problem is with the div align and center tags, the center of the page changes depending on if the vertical scrollbar is present. So pages that have a vert scroll are aligned different than those without one. With the css and absolute values, it stays centered, but it isn't centered on all resolutions. Because a left alignment of 240 isn't going to look the same on 1024x768 and 1280x1024.

If anyone has any solutions to this please post them. My only idea left is to use a script to grab the users resolution and use that to create the left and top offsets.

I think you have come across the best answer to it, using javascript to figure out the resolution and going from there. Your other option I guess would be to turn off all scroll bars on every page or make sure that every page on your site will scroll. You could do that by setting the height of the table to be 101% or something like that.

I am curious as to why you are worried about this, though... Most people won't be playing with the size of their windows back and forth to see the "jump" on the same page, and I don't really know of anyone that says it bothers them when it goes from one page to the next. That's just my opinion, though.

Yeah, it may be just me, but it just seems kind of sloppy because most pages don't scroll. And when you goto the one, it jumps to the left. Thanks for the help though, think I'm going to try and work with some Javascript.
