Arrow PHP server on computer

Is there some software which can imitate PHP server but when I'm offline and it's located on my computer? Because I use dial-up, and I can't connect to Net whenever I want and test my site, I'm just curious if this is maybe possible.

Yes, there are several options but I've used XAMPP for years now. It's really easy to start using (unzip and start) and all you have to remember is to unzip it to the root of the drive (ie. C:\xamppfolder). I use the xampplite but there's also bigger version available if you need the extra stuff.

I believe Apache server and DWebPro can do this (and they're both free):

I also found this, although I don't know if it'll be of any use: YouTube - Setting up a PHP server on your computer

I also use xampp and it's great. It's got everything you need to test php scripts. I've tested phpbb and wordpress using it.

Yea, Xampp is the way to go. And if you don't want to install it, there is a standalone version. Xampp also includes MySQL which may interest you.

Hi I use xampp at home and before that I have tried wampserver. I can't add urls as I have only posted twice! but google will find them for you.

These both give you local access to Apache with PHP and Mysql already configured and I have only ever had to make small changes to the http.conf file to add virtual hosts and change include paths as i don't do anything out of the box.

Both have lots of help and plenty of results in google if you have any errors.

I've allways used Apache, which is pretty easy to configure and works like a charm. This XAMPP sounds interesting though. Perhaps I'll give it a try, since I keep needing more and more mySQL properties.
