news ticker... how do i make one?

im basically trying to make a news ticker. i was thinking something like this (in the middle of the page).

would anyone help me build this news ticker for my site?

im trying to avoid using premade ones because i dont want to pay for it or exchange links! lol

p.s. i forgot to add that im trying to use an xml file with the news ticker rather than type my news in the body of my webpage!

I would if I was you make it XML based so you can easely change the news

I dont think you'll have any trouble finding something you like.. but if you do... i could help you with a PHP/Java version.

yeh i am using xml, i find its really easy that way...
ill check all these site now...
as for kirupa's, well i dont really know much about flash so ill do that when im really really stuck lol
