Are you sure you're having this issue in Firefox for Mac?

As far as I am aware, Firefox has built-in support for PNG Transparency, so this should not be occuring.

It is an infamous problem with Internet Explorer though for which there are many work arounds... all of which have been discussed in the forums here on BioRUST... use the search box at the top!

I'm kind of confused about the question. If you used transparency then you should see the background color coming through since the image has transparency. Do you not want that? If not, then do not use transparency on the image.

Jacorre,

I think he's seeing the IE Transparency Bug, but it does not exist in Firefox for Mac, unless he's got an old old version... even then, i thought Orig. Firefox supported full PNG with alpha transparency...

Oh well, maybe he will return and revive this thread.

Mike.

there is a possibility that they exported their png with a matte color or something...kinda how you have to do for gif's

just make sure you don't have png-8 dithered selected, but rather choose png-24.

other than that, I'm going to assume it's the ie bug in an ie browser

Thanks XI...

Sometimes the most obvious possibilities escape us!

To be honest, I forgot about PNG-8

Most browsers do NOT support tranparent PNG Images.

Where did you get that notion? I'll think you'll find that the most popular browsers (Firefox, Opera and Safari) have full PNG compatibility. Of the most popular browsers, only good old Internet Exploder () has issues with PNGs. Check this list: Comparison of web browsers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
