Free Alternative To DreamWeaver! HTML Web Editor

Hey all!

There is finally a free alternative to Dreamweaver that is fairly robust and quite useable.

SourceForge.net: KompoZer

Don't get me wrong, it's not as full featured as Dreamweaver, but it's quite usable, especially it's CSS Editor.

however, KompoZer is a Bugfix release / Source Fork of Nvu...

Between the two, it's nice to have free alternatives with a some decent features!

I have NVU already, is a bit limiting so will try this one out.

Nice thread! Do any of these editors have a lack of the 'tool knows best' problem? Because Dreamweaver *REALLY* ticks me off with its ability to totally alter my code. What I really need is notepad strapped onto a basic gui. *sigh* Come back Frontpage, all is forgiven!!!

Surely FrontPage was the worst-ever offender for that, wasn't it?

The KompoZer is the NVU but a later edition, unless I am missing something here. You could try AMAYA. In fact I think its better.

as css editor, i use Context.
i dont find the link right now, but googling will give you a good chance,
its also freeware.
