I will start by offering an example on how to make some money on the web, without beeing a photoshop master or a PHP profesional coder/programer.
You only need some things to start:
+ Some HTML experience
+ Understanding how code works ( doesn't matter if it is HTML or PHP or other )
+ Some easy tasks like transfering files ( via FTP ) or editing/installing scripts/open-source ( example is this forum ( a PHP based script ) )
+ Some graphic experience: Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks
+ Software: Photoshop/Imageready for graphic and slicing
Dreamweaver/Notepad/Wordpad for editing code and arranging items
+ A server that runs on your computer: I recommend AppServ, a software that installs latest...

So there you have it - you know what you need to develop a website ( a good one )
But how about developing a good website that also makes money? Or you never wanted a site to make money?..just for fun? I don't believe it!
When I started with my first PHP and mySQL dynamic website ( it was a phpBB forum ) I wanted to get more and more and more and more users on my website, to gain more and more......and more popularity. I submitted my forum to search engines and topsites in my country. I reorganised categories to match everyone needs. ( Music/movies/parties/poitics/technology/IT/recreation.../and stuff )
My forum reached 5000 active members. Every user was engaged in a discussion/thread. I heard about paid ads ( pay-per-click, banner exchange etc.)
Google ads are very good, and I also have some ad companies in my country.
So I put some bots to show ads in header and footer of my site, and there ya go: 700 $ in 3 months. I'm only eighteen but that was 2 years ago...
I may not be an expert but here are some good ideas of making money sites:
- Dating Site ( you now, when two meet each other, men and woman, man and ... oh wait.. I only prefer man and woman )
- Game Cheats Site ( I give you my example. I have a site with cheats for the popular multiplayer game Counter-Strike, and I don't even play CS. If you want to take a look:

- Portals
- portals are big phat everything-you-want websites. Just make a forum and a CMS, put some downloads, funny movies, all kinds of categories, some MP3 ( it's illegal I know, so I'll skip this ) blogs, chat.... you know, all stuff that you want and don't want.
- I intent to make a mobile portal, because mobile stuff is selling with a tremendous speed and increase. weel I dont want to sell , I want to offer free, but at the price of clicking ads, thats the trick
- Index Site
- an index site is a website that does the job for you. Let me give you an example: You want a Blog Index. You have your blog index but no blog submitted. First advertise your site, and ad yourself some blogs you find on the net. Then just put your feet in the desk. Every blog user/owner will want to put his blog in your index. So it's a vicious circle. More blogs you index, more blogs will come, more money from ads you will have.

- Graphics Forum
- it atracts many many guests and users. A smart thing is to put an adbot ( a bot that posts itself after a given number of threads, an ad). So guests will see the ads after a post... and will probably click it. You can deactivate the adbot for registered users by offering a promotion : Register now and surf the forum without ads
