where is the best place to host a free web with php hosting

i wanted to host a page but i wanna know where is THE best place or host to use to host my site and is there any where i could use my own address like myname.com instead of host.com/myname

I'm not sure about a free place as I rent host every year. As for the myname.com... All you should have to do is buy the domain through a domain redirector. That way, when someone goes to your domain, they are forwarded to host.com/myname.

I would reccomend just buying a cheap hosting package myself but to each his own.

free hosting is always hard to find (when looking for decent quality) and is always riddled with cons or problems, i.e. ads, 50% server downtime etc, tiny space, slow speed etc.

cheap hosting is your best bet

Dreamhost is a huge overseller but they are, by far, the most affordable for what you get. Just be sure to cancel your account before the year is up. Otherwise, they will renew it for you at full price...

Edit: K, since someone else did... Let me mention that the Dreamhost plan that I mentioned is 20gig webspace and 1TB bandwidth monthly. You just can't beat that at $10/year with domain name included.

Well, if you had an old computer laying around, you could use that.

Just install apache and your good. Especially since you have your own domain name.

You could always try eznom.net, They offer free php and mysql hosting and have been up for over 11months so you won't loose your work or have it close down and their uptime is VERY good. I've been using them for about 6months now and very happy with them.. but don't trust me sign up and see for yourself.
