Hard to say with the limited information given, but some issues can be resolved by simply adding a forward slash \' in front of the apostrope. Another option could be to turn on the Magic Quotes function by placing the switch in your .htaccess file: php_flag magic_quotes_gpc On

yeah 2nd option is something I can't do, bacause I'm working on a public server
and the \ adding is what is done by addslashes() andthat doesn't work, the \ themselfs are just printed followed by the "?"

Well, make sure you haven't spelled it "addslaches()" because that's not going to work ;-)

Also, it helps to specify in the message header that this is a PHP problem. That wasn't obvious to me, since I never touch the thing.

Have you tried outputting the apostrope as a character entity?
