Well, to create this forum skin I essentially downloaded a premade one over at VBskinz, and then altered most of the underlying graphics accordingly. Its much like reverse engineering, except that you create something new in the process.

Also, I should point out that different forum software have different ways to skin forums..
It depends, you should look on the site that you got your forum or ask in their community forums for help..

for a phpBB skin, it is easier then most.. I would start by modifing the subSilver base skin, at least until you get to know how the skin works.. also I would hang out at the phpBB official forums and ask a lot of question, just make sure they are valid.

TekVex you can also PM me if you need help. I'm sure I can help you.
Almost definetely for Photoshop, maybe some HTML. However, I don't know PHP or MySQL. I should've learned it but I don't have time anymore.

I want to get better with Graphics, and then HTML which put together a layout. Then I'll get into JavaScript, PHP and MySQL to make cool stuff for the layout.

The way I have learned what I have is taking the time to understand how it is done... for instance:
In HTML, I learned that all tags use <> and to close </>.. I also know sometimes attributes are used, they look like attrib="value".. took me 5 months to pretty much memorize HTML, not CSS.. that is another beast..
When you get into PHP, you will find it a good idea to know HTML very well, or else you will get into some trouble.. just a few suggestions.. when it concerns PHP.. I can help you out..

I'd suggest spending time on HTML and really getting to know it well. Then learn CSS.
Those two alone will take a considerable amount of time to learn, but it'll be worth it.

yes, they would. I learned HTML, didnt really learn CSS, although I can do basic things with them..
PHP is only for those who want to spend months studing programming.. but worth it though!
