SImple JS problem in IE ><

Here i have a script:

<form method=post action='' name=form1>
<select size="1" name="select">
  <option value="0">0</option>
  <option value="1" onClick="document.form1.field1.value='1';">1</option>
  <option value="2" onClick="document.form1.field1.value='2';">2</option>
</select>
<input type=text name="field1">
<input type="submit" value="Send">
</form>

I saw it works perfectly on both Opera and FF,but NOT in IE,any one could helpme fix this problem,i would thank you os much.
