Iframe and Expandable Content Boxes are evil !
Evil I say !
I'm trying to make iframes for my main content box (which auto-expands) so I can have all my main links open up in the content box, but theres this tiny (huge) problem i'm having.
You see, I don't want any scroll bars on my content box. It seems that no matter what I do, or how I set up the content box/iframe, I still get scroll bars.
I could turn off scrolling for the iframe but then it just cuts out the rest of the iframe page being displayed.
I need the iframe to expand along with the content box itself.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Unfortunately iframes do not support relative expanding sizes - you need to define an exact set of dimensions in pixels. If you want to exclude the menu code from the main page, though, how about just using a normal table cell and then adding the content via a PHP INCLUDE?

Iframes should be avoided at all costs, they are I believe obselete according to the HTML standards, and many platforms still no not like them.

Yeah, I was planning on doing that but for the main content in the middle I guess I can just make it a set size.

Is there any other way of making all my links open up in the middle content box without using iframes?.. I think I would rather not use iframes at all like you said.

why not use seperate pages, why keep it on one page?
This is quite a big thing that many new webmasters do not know/care about, but it is important as you learn, since later on it will be whether you are hired or not.
It is called SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, and it is a science of it's own. It is always better to have seperate pages, Iframes break a lot of search engines.. I would not worry about having iframes at all, just reuse the design on each page.

Hmm, wont that take longer for each page to load though?.. and besides, the site that i'm working on is for a very small community, or should i say a group of good friends. I was hoping to make it a faster, more efficient site then a really popular/active site.
Then again I really hate iframes, I need a solution. You got any more info on this " SEO" you speak of?

SEO would really confuse you, it still does me to an extent, and I have been using it for almost a month, I only know a few points.. it is quite an advanced subject..
To have seperate pages would not really slow the site down too much, since at first visit the images are cached in the visitors browser, so on the next page, the cached images are loaded, not re-downloaded.

Hmm, well, I was looking at snecx.com the other day (I just happened to see there awesome affiliate on BioRust) and I read an article about his "FAUX Browser Check" trick, or whatever you would like to call it. I figured, I only use 2 iframes on my site, one for the main content and one for the shoutbox. If I use this trick of his, I can let people know that there browser is outdated and that my site is not ment for viewing with outdated browsers like IE.
Personally, I could care less about the amount of visitors i get from this project. So I guess I would'nt need any SEO.
I got my html and css validated today (Weeeewww !) so, with that and the faux browser check, i'm sure things will work out wonderfully.
BioRUST ROCKS !!
