Html Links Help!

Well i got the whole site to work but then i was like well i bet w3c thinks my code is wrong. Sure enough it had many errors so i have been working with there validation section and my own knowledge to make my work correct before further updateing the design aspects of the page. This is where i come into trouble.

The buttons that i am using as links seem to have taken on the nice border that you can see from this link:

http://www.ksu.edu/sigep/iindex.htm

Is there any CSS or HTML comand to get rid of this or if you veiw source, something that i am doing wrong. I am also having a very ferocious battle with image ready slices. It seems that when i make the code correct as far as w3c concerned that page seems to break apart as you can also see from the link above. any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks

Ahhhhh - you need to add 'border="0"' to your IMG tag to correct that. Its a wierd snafu that only seems to affect IE and other microsoft stuff as well - Opera and Firebird work just fine....

Oh, and I know what you mean about Imageready output and W3C standards. Imageready is good for outputting the image slices, but the HTML it generates is truly lousy - you are perhaps best re-writing the structure of the page by hand...

Good point. I figured it might do that. Any other programs more effective then imageready? Say dreamweaver? If so let me know, until then i will go at it by hand. thanks for the input.

Dreamweaver seems to make a genuine attempt at W3C standards, good for making quick pages, but I would stick to hand coding the hard way, you learn more, and you also learn about little bugs that are annoying.

Agreed. I have happened upon many of these bugs so far with this site. Lots of fun, and good learning exp. Ill probably stick to imageready for the moment and just be cautious of the little mistakes. Thanks for all the info.
