Ok... this seems a good a place as any to ask important questions! In this case I want to ask... what would YOU like to replace the 'irc chat' and 'wiki' tabs in the main menu? In either case I don't want anything too intensive to maintain.

I was personally thinking at least one could be a shop for 'premium' downloads. Authors could then sell their really amazing wares, with biorust taking a modest commission (5%?).

The Biorust shop seems like a good idea! something like deviantart does? With prints or something would be great

Well, physical goods would just be far too much to maintain - they'd require me to send them, post them, etc... and I don't have the time.

I was thinking more a place to sell digital downloads from users. Take a peek over @ VBcart (http://www.vbcover.com/forums/vbcart...t&productid=37). I'd not find it hard to download sales stats once a month and mass-pay people their earnings (minus commission). Since all additions would be controlled directly, it would be spam-proof.

Another idea is a completely user-run auction system such as vbay (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=132544). We would have to restrict software sales, though, to keep out dodgy people.

that downloads thingy is also pretty cool! But what could be for download there? Images(hig-res)... or Flash scripts? Well its a good idea I guess...

you could leave the actual item type open (maybe decide limitations for unacceptable content) and then it could work for everyone... web designers, logo designers, programmers, photographers and artists etc. Maybe just require all files be in .zip format for delivery because this will work for most all platforms.

Yeah, maybe you can get people to set up webstores for themselves

You know like "Unleashed graphics" and "Synthetic Media", something like that. Than the only thing that you need to do is set up a system so that people can upload an zip file with an thumbnail to some sort of a shop
