Hosting

I'm in a hurry so I'll make this quick.

Does anybody know of a good host for an image uploading site? Something that isn't over $100.00 a month.

Keep this in mind:
LOTS of disk space is required
About 150-200 GB of bandwidth will be used per day

Any recommendations?

...wow. I'm not sure there is ANY host out there that offers that much bandwidth, not even a month. I think your best option is to run your own server and hopefully your ISP doesnt find out

I got a server which got 20gigs on it and it has a 200gb bandwidth limit per month. I dont think there would be any host willing to give 200gigs a day.

serverbeach.com has plans that start at around $100 a month, and you get 2000 GB of transfer a month. They'll probably allow 6000 GB a month transfer, but you'll be paying through the nose, I'd imagine.

I anticipate that there is NO way you will be able to get that much transfer for < $100 a month.

Muah. My host gives unlimited. That is, they advertise unlimited, and I've paid, so under law that is what they must provide.

or you can pay £20 for two years for a .co.uk, like i did and get unlimited bandwidth and unlimited space, all at the expense of not having a mysql database. It is worth it though.

that it is crazy amount of bandwidth sunbject!. Are you planning on going global and posting your work on cgtalk or some hting?

this is insane.

This is exactly what i have. My hosting company lets me have unlimited bandwidth and unlimited space all for £20 a year but then i had to subscribe to their adsl for £30 a month to use the thing. It was really worth it though because now i dont have any restrictions.

If you want mysql guess you could use a free mysql resource, or buy one.

This is the best one I found so far:
http://www.ev1servers.net/english/index.asp

They were formerly known as RackShack.net

TVPR, what host do you use?
Marc, does your host allow the same plan without the ADSL?
ahmed, what host do you use?

Keep in mind I'm in the U.S.

EDIT: Found ahmed's host:
http://www.meinwebserver.com/hosting.php
Quote:
unlimited Storage
unlimited Traffic
unlimited Domains

14.95 $/month
Their ToS sounds very tough. I'm not sure whether or not they'd allow me to run my site. I'll give them an e-mail sometime soon.

You could try http://www.streamlinenet.co.uk
I've never used it, so i don't know what it's like, but it's £100 a year. Unlimited web space and unrestricted bandwith and it's got a 3 month free trial too.

What the hell do you need that much bandwidth for? I'd host it up to like 10 GB bandwidth for you but **** that's a lot of bandwidth.

@ doubled - Will they offer it to U.S. citizens?

To answer everyone's question, my aim is to become the Google for image uploading. The numbers are coming from an older site (speedis.org), that used to be pretty popular. However, I want to be bigger than that.
