I'm happy for you Ryan. Pfffft ... I'm too lazy, I'll get a job next year.

However, m0g can keep slipping me money under the table for moderating BioRUST. Right m0g ... ?

*cough* what under the table money for moderating.. *cough*.. hey, tax-free money is free after all.

I will be doing web design, and programming, it is an entry level job, so I am not expecting much right off.. had to get the job to get the insurance to get a drivers license.. so in the end it all works out. Tomorrow I get my work permit situated..

Awesome man, I work as a web programmer also; mostly writing content and user managment programs. It's tough to get a job where I live, 17 is pretty much the minimum age.

thats awesome dude. That is actually a very good pay, you got yourself there.

Hey Ngz, do you know how much creative jobs pay? i bet you dont!. All creative jobs are very fun like programming and graphic design. You just have to remember that we dont do these jobs for the money. We do these jobs because we have a true passion for what we do. A graphic designer out here usually only gets paid about £15,000 a year which is a piss poor amount of money, but i wouldnt mind even recieving about £10,000, because i know i am doing some thing that i really love. So there!

Yeah, pay isn't very good. Currently I get $8/hour (4.40 in pounds). But it's awesome seeing your creations actually used for something, unlike the stuff siting on my desktop.

Amen to that! Creativity over income. Now if only the market would open up here in the rocky mountains.

pssf.. so much for the job..

went to get the permit, which is required for me working, the school refused it, saying that the company did not cover workers compensation which is to cover any on the job injuries..

So, after finding that out, and letting the job know, I find myself going to the CA State Office here in San Diego, finding out that it is against the law for a company to hire anyone without workers comp., no matter the age, however for a minor it is monitored really closely.. ok, interesting development..

Call back the employer, get the run around, the usual "I am wasting my time with you, when I can hire someone else.".. what crap! I am 17 f**king years old, I am new to this whole f**king thing, what nerve to make it sound like I am in the wrong for trying to get a job..

Needless to say.. I am pissed, real pissed..

auch thats harsh. I would start training really hard and then approach the same firm two years later and piss all over them. I think that is rude and pretty disgraceful. SO i am sorry to here that Order. Dont give up. Keep on looking for a job.
