StylesXP and customizing your desktop
I've got stylesXP and I think its a great program. I love having something different. Also I like the program, samurize, that man1c mog has on his desktop (looking thru THIS POST (Post your desk/desktop)). It supplies him with up-to-date news, weather, TV info, and things like that. my main question is wheres the best place to get skins & themes for stylesXP. I prefer the ones that change everything that StylesXP can change. I also like the object bar and i know you can get that from http://www.stardock.com. are there any similar programs? also i'm an avid gamer. how do samurize and object bar affect that? does it cause your gaming window (RvS all the way!!!) to collapse? thanx in advance and hope to hear from ya!

Ahhhh, Styles XP has its own skins respository over at http://www.themexp.org/ . Many of the skins are totally pants, but theres a few gems nestled in there too! Oh, and I don't find that samaurize interferes with my gaming - it just goes into the background, and doesn't seem to hog the system resources. All in all, its just like having a wallpaper with knobs on...

I have used stylexp, and windowblinds, I find stylexp to be the more natural program, since it uses what is built in windows xp, windowblinds is too choppy for my liking.. but then again, I prefer simplicity, and when programming, you get enough memory leaks, without other programs helping..
:O <-- just noticed that winamp was taking 80% of cpu.. damn advanced skins.

Hmm good show for the classic skins for winamp, those pumped-up animated thingamajigs suck in all ways, including its appearance. Thats why i had 2.91 almost all the time, at least you dont have to wait 15 seconds for winamp to load

Alas many of them ARE rather pants... but I just skip past them, don't click download, do not pass go, do not collect £200, etc...

Did you guys pay for Styles XP or just keep re-Downloading the free trial?
I just bought Microsoft Plus, no weird issues with compatibillity there.

If you are into modding your desktop, pay for it, otherwise stick with their free patch..

Samurize CAN interfere with some games, but is very easy to get around it. All you have to do is click the icon in the sys tray and samurize will minimize into the systray and a simple click on the icon will bring it back... WOW =P (extra exageration in there)
I've used samurize now for about a year and love it although having it collect alot of information over time will slow the PC down -- Atleast it seems that way to me.
Anyway, to get back on subject -- "Windowblinds" in another stylexp kind of program. Skins can be downloaded from www.wincustomize.com.

what are the spec on your computer? would those have anything to do w/ that? does samurize have a GUI interface to manipulate its objects?
