Five fav. apps
OK! Ive got a few things to say here. First of all is that nobody's posting much anymore. its slowed down abit around here... we were of to a great start but i hope we dont lose it now! BUT: maybe its just me!
Anyways second is that i should post something that you people can respond to. SO here goes:
A few days ago i got my computer with WindowsXP back. I had to reformat the harddrive and reinstall windows, so there was nothing on the computer. I think the reason that it crashed was that I had too many half deleted programs, or unnessisary ones (e.g. I had five browsers) SO anyways im trying to just download the best of the best for what I need. I think i've done a good job at getting the "must have" programs, but could you guys post your top five FREEWARE apps? You know, those apps that you just cant live without
Mine are (in no particular order)
Mozilla Firebird
iPhile
Winamp 2.9
Samurize
uxtheme.dll patch (you know the one so you can apply third party visual styles, free alternative to styleXP)
Well thats it for now

Heh.. Windows and half-deleted programs.. lovely.. and yes it has seemed to slow down a bit.. I have been busy with school work, my b-day, and the fact my mother in the hospital... so I have not been that active..
As for freeware, there is not much.. lol.. not much at all
As for the uxtheme.dll patch.. it rules..!

Yeh, it does, just cuz it's free, but i think it scares some people that they are replacing a system file, the patcher i use (i got it from www.belchfire.net) makes a popup saying the the computer has lost an essitial file or something and windows just HAS to have the CD to fix it.
Well if you dont have any freeware that you cant live without the might as well post non-freeware (or whatever its called)

There is Freeware, Shareware, Giftware, Open Source Software... and Commercial Ware.. there are more, but these are the general ones..
All I need is Solitaire.. which anyone has, Photoshop, Microsoft Frontpage, and that is all I need :P

Sorry to hear that you mother is in hospital Digital. I hope she gets better soon (the majority of peeps in hospital do... honest! ). Anyway, I use quite a vast array of different applications to keep my system functional. Here's the freeware ones:
Winamp 3 (of course ).
Motherboard Monitor
ShutDown Now
Editplus 2
Seti@Home
Some are, of course, shareware, but you can use them as freeware if you are stingy like me...

And I also use Winamp 3.. great software.. free also.. :P

Winamp 3?????? Personally I don't like it, it may look nice but it's so damn buggy

Haha.. notepad on steroids..
I use WordPad.. I have yet to see any formatting problems, or anything of the sort.. and I like it because it listens to the \n lines that linux uses, while still working with the CR/LF windows newlines.. and yes, most of you are most likely lost at what I just said
