Google Favicon

Anyone else notice that Google changed their favicon? Before it was an uppercase G within a box. Now it's a lower case g (no box). I think I like the previous one better. What do you guys think?

Yes, I noticed it first on my cellphone.. I guess the computer had the uppercase cached. I will agree that the upper-case G was a much better icon. I find the lower-case g diffucult to distinguish from any other website. But maybe I'm just used to the old one.

Yeah the new one also has all black colors....its really dark

I think the old one was way better! And it fitted better into the whole google theme...ask tamlin for the colors

The thing I really found strange was that my browser shows the new fav when Im at the google site, but in my search bar (firefox) it still displays the old favicon....

I think it needs to be updated. Not sure how though. I use the Bookmarks toolbar and it won't update a favicon unless you click on the link in the toolbar again from what I've seen.

Hmm, I cant seem to find a favicon review there Jonathan,

anyway, I still think they should go backto there old logo, its there trademark and its well know. Everytime someone sees a G with those colors inside a box they think of google...

This new one...well it isnt related to google in my mind (or absence of mind if you will)

Its the same thing when coca cola would give up is annual christmass commercials. they are also the same every year...and its part of the coca cola thing!

Speaking of favicons I love your logo icon Jacorre, but have you ever considered pairing it down to just the center of it for your favicon. Part of what makes it stand out great as a logo is the diamond in the cneter and the lines through it. It loses some of that with the transition to the favicon.

I know you weren't outwardly seeking suggestions, I just thought I'd throw you some feedback.
