I used to have an Iriver (I have an ipod touch now which I'm regretting getting because Itunes has been the biggest piece of crap for me) that worked pretty well with WMP.
I noticed something odd though. Music files would disappear on it when they were WMA format, which is strange because Iriver only syncs with WMP.
So the problem might be that if your music is WMA format, the mp3 player might not be reading them correctly in which case the only thing you can do is convert your music.
