Stay Away From Best Price Cameras.Com

Three weeks ago I ordered a Nikon D-300 from best price cameras .com. It was the best price, it was too good to be true. $1049.00 body only. I checked out the site the best I could. Read all the reviews posted by previous clients. Funny thing I can't find the review post any more. The day I ordered the camera their website claimed to have it in stock. I even called by phone to confirm, and I paid for three day shipping. A week went by and no camera yet. I sent several e-mails during that week and called on land line, after being on hold for thirty minutes and listening to a recording telling me how much they care about my customer satisfaction I was finally told that the camera had been on back order but that they had just arrived and were going out the next day. Another long week goes by and several e-mails later (none of which were ever responded to) I called again, you camera is still on back order and should arrive in six to eight weeks.$#^%$*$# CANCEL MY ORDER. The voice on the other end said he would cancell my order and generate an e-mail confirming the cancellation. I still have not received said e-mail. On the positive side I have not been billed for anything yet but I still contacted my credit card company and instructed them not to accept any charges from best price. I don't know what their problem is, I hope somehow I have not been scammed, and yes the price was too good to be true, I should have known. If any of you have had any experience with this company I would like to know. Otherwise stay away from them. I'm not even going to give you a link.

Sorry to hear about your problems, koko - hope it all turns out OK for you. I must admit I've never heard of this particular company, but I'll steer clear of them in the future. Thanks for the warning. I guess the old adage rings true here: if a deal seems to good to be true, it probably isn't true.

Thanks guys, I belive I will stick with B&H Photo Video | Digital Cameras, Camcorders They have always been trustworthy honest and dependable.

I think this was same place I almost bought a few D40x from. I learned a lot from that incident about the camera business. Check any website that is selling commericially with the BBB first if its not an easily recognizable one like B&H or Audoroma.

They price the gray market camera's on their website (though it doesn't say non-US models) and they will try to sell you their WAY OVERPRICED accessories with misleading and false statements like "OEM batteries are meant to setup camera only and will not last longer than 15 minutes.... buy one of our batteries for $90".

I had placed order online and good thing they wanted me to call and confirm my order... wanted US model which raised the price and then their push for accessories and battery claims on phone told me this wasn't right. Canceled order immediately and looked them up on the BBB online... sure enough they have MANY complaints and it seems that the same owner runs several photo shops this way under different names. I think they dump a name once the rep has taken its toll and move on with new name. Shady is too kind for these companies.

I now deal with just B&H and Audoroma online for camera gear. I guess peace of mind is worth a little extra sometimes. ;-)

I reordered with B and H and had my new camera in three days. I also contacted NIkon USA and told them about my experience, They informed me that BPC is not an authorized Nikon dealer and were probably selling grey market cameras ( foreign copies). Cameras of questionable origin. Yep I learned my lesson. I still have not recieved an official reply to my cancellation, but my cc company knows not to pay. Pass the word on these scoundrals and keep your friends away.

OmG thanks for the info koko and sorry you had to deal with such BS! I don't think I could buy a camera online because I would need to have someone show me how to use it and that would be easier to do in person. But My hubby is the camera man I'm not much into them except my lil digital camera that isn't anything special or high tech. Better luck next time and I hope it all works out.
