Computers! =p
Hey m8s.
I'm thinking about buying a new computer soon and was wondering which computers you guys use and where you got them. I'm looking for a gaming // workstation // media center PC and wondering where I could get the best deal?
One site I found that was really good was www.ibuypower.com. The big name companies, eg, Dell are really expensive in comparison and have nowhere near the power. Put in your thoughts.
One more thing, emachines sucks

Well, I can't really advise you who to buy from, coz i'm on the other side of the pond, but why not build your own? I mean, P4's have really come down in price recently and represent a very good bargain. Plus if you build your own PC you know exactly what's in it. Anyway, my PC spec is as follows:
Athlon XP 1800+ OC'd to 2ghz
1gb of DDR2700 ram
Radeon 9700pro Video Card
SB Audigy 2 soundcard
22" Iiyama Diamondtron monitor
2 Watercooling loops (800w cooling power)
This used to be a megafast PC, but its just about entry level now. I've got the money to get a nice n00 one, but I think i'm gonna wait until a better version of the Athlon 64 comes out - no way am I getting ECC ram...

Building your own PC is usually the cheapest and best way to get a topoftheline computer but ive heard it was kind of akward though
I've always bought from Dell, i think they are the best when it comes to service and ease, and you know they are legit
And going to a futureshop or similar store to buy a PC is stupid, dont do that...

I wouldn't say that its hard to make your own system really, but it is quite nerve breaking - especially for the first few seconds of the machines life, where you have no idea whether you seated the CPU heatsink right. Mess it all up, and *fzzzzzzt*

Heh, very true! The exquisite smell of burned silicon. One of the most exclusive scents in the world of computing...

I'm always getting the feeling that Sony is like brand name clothing: your just paying more because "sony" is on whatever you are buying.

Well, just go out and buy a few cold cathodes then. You'd be amazed how good they can make your PC look.

OoOoOoOoO! Alienware. *drool*
I love their computers. They look so original. It's awesome. I'd love to have one.
Right now I have a Dell. It's pretty good. It's a top of the line Dimension 8300. All the good stuff inside.

..sony..
Most of my electronics are sony though.. sony MD player, sony digital camera.. sony mouse (optical, for reading memory cards from my camera). I think sony's other electronics are good, but their computers are way too expensive.
Best company so far - www.ibuypower.com, although I hate some of their cases =\.
I wouldn't buy alienware because it's too expensive...although they are hella nice :D .
edit : www.superflyxtreme.com is pretty nice also
