Paint Shop Pro X1 Help

I have a problem with the program PSP X1 and hope that someone can help me resolve it. While I had PSP open, I inserted a CD that has all the fonts that I have saved over the years, and somehow some of these fonts got installed in my PSP. They are not installed in my Windows Font Folder, just PSP. There is an odd icon left of the font listed and to the right, there is no sample of font. When I try to use one of the fonts, my PSP closes down. I did discover that if I put the CD in and try to use the fonts, they work. The problem is I don't want these Fonts in there and I need to know how to delete them. I tried un-installing and re-installing the program and they are still there. Does anyone have an idea as to how I can get rid of these fonts?

Hi Cleo:
First off, let me say that it's many many years since I last used PSP, so I'm far from being an expert. However, I've done a bit of digging and think it may solve your problem if you reset PSP back to the default settings - there is a very similar procedure for when Photoshop starts acting weird, and it usually fixes the problem.
Here is a link to a page that describes how to do it (the section titled Resetting PSP to default):
Tips And Tricks For Using Paint Shop Pro Eklektik*Kolord*Dreamz
The technique mentions PSP7, but I'm hoping that it'll work for later versions.

I suspect that uninstalling and then reinstalling doesn't actually overwrite the registry settings, which is why you still had the problem.

Hope this helps.

Hi...I checked out your link and I tried it and I couldn't get the window to pop up asking me to edit the registry. So, I tried something else and I am glad to say that it worked. I was at the point where I was ready to get the old sledge hammer out!! lol I appreciate your help on this. Thank you!!

If PSP is anything like Photoshop in this respect, you have to get the timing of pressing the CTRL+ALT keys exactly right - probably try it a few times before you get it right. Still, I'm glad your problem is fixed now.
