unleash said it all.
I taught myself, and read some books for pointers.

sometimes the self trained think further out of the box than those who have been formally educated.
since they dont know any better.

I used some basic online tuts to get me started. I might take a course or program one day but it is not in my immediate future. At the moment I just like playing around and seeing what happens.

I have been using pshop for about 4/5 years now and everyhting is self taught or by reading books and tuts, to me its the best way, unfortunately when looking for a job they all seem to want the one with the qualification.

I was injured at work and while I was convalescing I began playing around with an old version of PS5. Mostly self taught, however when I lived in San Diego I joined the SD photoshop club. We met once a month. Most of the time I left those meeting feeling quite stupid but I stuck with it, I consider myself proficient enough with PS, now the rest is just up to my imagination.

I have studied photoshop at school. I've done a photographic academy here in Italy, and I got a master class on photoshop cs.
The studies gone all on photo corrections and a little photomanipulation, then I expanded my knowledge either by studying myself and also with other private lessons with my ex teacher.
As for working on photos, I think is very difficult that can be achieved certain results without the advice and lessons from good professionals, but for digital art is probably the experience itself that can make a big difference.

I've learned mostly by trial and error. This works...and this doesn't. It seems to work best for me. I have looked up somethings, but more or less just learned on my own.

Just practicing although I think that those who study are probably far better than us amateurs lol.

I started doing flyers to help out my husbands band. I started with MS Publisher and thought that was it. Then I started asking other people who did great flyers, how did they do this and that and the answers were "PhotoShop", so then I went looking.
Since then, I have been teaching myself. I came across brushes by accident and now I am hooked.
Every spare minute, I just want to sit at the computer and play with photoshop.
I wish I had more available time to devote to it.

Kind of both really, I do graphic design for work and pleasure!

I guess I'm just lucky

Where's the option "I didn't"

My studying involves programming so I've never studied how to design. On the other hand I don't consider myself to be a good designer either so maybe I should've studied some of that too. Luckily I've been surrounded by great designers who have usually helped me with the designs.
