Christmas Tree (Real or Fake)?

Just wondering how many of you have a real Christmas tree vs a fake one. All my life I've grown up with a fake Christmas tree, but I like it! Less of a mess and fire hazard I guess! What about all of you?

Well I guess I can't say "al my life" as im just 16...

But the last 3 Christmases, we've had a fake one, that's ,mainly because of our dog we no longer can have a real tree. Not that that is a bad thing, Its not the tree that matters, is it?
I do like the Pine smell, but for that you're better of in the forest....the smell is way better there...:P

I've had both throughout the years. Although I love the smell of a real tree, I prefer the fake one (one that looks real) because, like you said, it's less of a mess. The last several though, I haven't put one up because it's too much work. I've either been in school full-time with a part-time job or too busy with my current job.

In fact, I don't have the Christmas spirit anymore... it's not as magical as it was in childhood and as I've grown older, my beliefs have changed.

Thanks for asking, this was a fun question!

every year my wife talks me into getting a tree in a pot.
that way after christmas she can still hug it.

we used plant them in the yard and watch them die, but for the last 3 years we have kept them inside and let them prosper.

someday when they get stronger we will plant them outside.

It's always been a real tree. I love the pine smell and decorating a different shaped tree every year. Tall and skinny, short and fat, it makes it fun. The dropping needles don't really bother me and they smell great when you sweep them up. When I was young (a LONG time ago) my whole family would jump in the station wagon and go to this farm where we'd hay ride behind a tractor to the tree farm, pick our tree and cut it down ourselves - for about a buck a foot. ... I said it was a long time ago.

I prefer a fake tree for the same reasons already mentioned. For the past couple years, I haven't put one up. I don't own one and I'm in an apartment so it's not like people could really see it.

Heck, we used to leave the ornaments on the tree so when you put it up, you just fold it down and 'fluff.'

FAKE! We always get real ones but for some reason Hawaii got shipped some bunk trees. Live wasps, bees and I think a couple had an actual bigger animals in the tree. Insects were either alive or dead. So my mom and I said forget that. Got a fake one.

A couple schools had to send back 10,000+ trees.

Growing up we always had a real tree, but I don't like the mess that's left over after Christmas so since it's my house and my tree now, I just have a fake one. All I do is pull it out of the box each year and decorate...rinse and repeat! Although I do miss the smell! (Maybe I could get one of those Pine smelling car fresheners and hang it up in the house! Think that might work?? ha)
