Images on DVD

Hi everyone,

I need help with this.

I want to put some photos and images on a DVD to be able to see them on televishon.

In which format do I need to save them and which software is the best to brand the photos and images?

Thank you so much for your help.

The question is more to do with your DVD player than with the format of the images. Some DVD players can show a series of still images (usually JPG format) as a slideshow, while others can't. Check your player's manual.
If your DVD player has got this function, you probably just need to stick all your JPGs on a DVD-R and Bob's your uncle. However, if your player can't handle still images there are various software packages (e.g. Magix Movie Edit Pro: MAGIX - Movie Edit Pro - detail) that you can use to create a slideshow from a series of photos, and then burn to DVD as a movie. Although it's more in-depth, the advantage of this method is that you can add background music and titles and control how long the images stay on screen and the transitions between images.

Yes, my DVD player supports JPEG images, but I wondered which DVD is better a DVD +R or -R and which software could make it an easy job.

Thank you so much for the info, bcause the photos I took at a recent wedding I want to put it on DVD.

Thank you so much.

The format of the DVD you use (+R or -R) is dependent on your DVD writer. Older DVD writers tended to be designed to write to one or the other, but most modern DVD writers/rewriters will happily write to either.

All you need to do is burn your JPGs to a data DVD (as opposed to a DVD-Video) the same way you would burn any other files, and you should be good to go. You can do this with Nero or Roxio or whatever software came with your DVD drive.
