So, minus the big story. Ex husband was going to take my laptop so I erased, yes I erased my programs. Photoshop, Dreamweaver and my FTP Program and some other misc stuff that really doesnt pertain to web design.

So I got my PS and my FTP back, BUT I have no dreamweaver. It wont let me reinstall. Ive already cried about this now im a little pissed. No I didnt really cry but on the verge. I have a client waiting, shes actually been waiting, I had to put my work aside because of going through the process of divorce ect... all that.

So yeah, actually couple clients are waiting... I dont know what to do!!!! Can anyone recommend anything for me? Is there a similar program or something that is free or not that expensive.

Man I gotta go digging for my other dreamweaver CDs but for now I need some help and input right away....

i guess an option could be to download the trial version of dreamweaver, it's what... 30days? hopefully long enough to finish your project...

another program is NVU which is a wysiwyg editor, free... but it's now being called Kompozer apparently, I haven't used it, but keep hearing about it so maybe that's an option

also there's a cheaper editor out there called coffee cup and that's only like 40bux for the software, or some such.

anyways Coffee Cup is the program that helped me get into the world of web.

Are you getting an error message when you try to reinstall? If so, what is it?

As agentxi has said, there are lots of other web design apps around that you might be able to use in the short term - some are even free: Free HTML Editors, Web Page Builders, Web Editors and Web Site Builders (thefreecountry.com)

At a pinch, and if you are feeling particularly masochistic, you could even use Notepad.

If you own the license for your copy of Dreamweaver, then you need to contact Adobe and ask them what you need to do. If you own it, you own it. Maybe Dreamweavers registration system is going online and sees that this serial is activated for one machine already. They really cannot prevent you from having this software on whatever SINGLE computer of your choosing.

It sounds like Dreamweaver was on this computer before . . . perhaps a copy with another serial #??

you know what i just realized... lol. HAHA! i have adobe golive. which is something. the kompozer, NVU was good enough but i couldnt insert things i usually did in dreamweaver. But that program can build you a webpage, if you know how to code and can type your own html or whatever, can do. I just needed a guideline, because i have the code just only in notepad. You know what I mean. lol. thanks alot guys!!! always coming through!!
