Long Live Open Source

For those not familiar, many programs are available free online as open source software. These are often as good as software you'd pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for (plus they get updated regularly).

Now I probably wouldn't go this route for design software as a professional, but I currently use an open source office program for the mac (NeoOffice) that allows me to open and edit any Microsoft office file.

Anyway, I stumbled across this list and thought I'd share:

WEBI.ORG - Open Source Alternative to Commercial Software

I have loads more stuffed away, but please remember OpenSource does not run on fresh air. So, if you can please put something back into the pot and support them for their time and effort. I take my hat off to them for their altruistic concepts and ideas that also challenge the main stream companies. Shoot me down if you disagree (in a literal sense of course).

well the only thing to add to this list is LINUX right

its an open source OS, it doesn't support most of the games nor does it support the bulk of designing software. But it is completely free

anyway Im just kidding, nice list....at the other hand everything can be free for those who accept the dark side of the force....

dammit Im a bit this afternoon....
