Angry i got hit with the blasterworm again!

Well today i finally fixed my good computer (by reformatting the harddrive and reinstalling windows)

And then i connect to the internet, and a minute into trying to download zonealarm and updating norton antivirus, I GET HIT WITH W32.BLASTER.WORM!

Anyways i had to go through a huge hassle to get rid of it, but luckily i had already done it once before so it was a bit earier this time

Getting the blaster worm is simple.. you dont get it via e-mail or anything, sometimes you dont even know you have it, or at least until it crashes

It is caused by DCOM, which had a vulnerability in it that allowed programs to be downloaded and ran without the users consent. The worm is transferred through RPC, which is like a respository of code.. the code that the worm has replicates itself as part of the RPC...

Kinda sneaky and well done, but not fun to have, even though the worm is basically harmless now since the date for the DoS on Windows Update!

It may be harmless to microsoft, but it made my computer restart after a few minutes of being connected to the internet. It was kind of hard to download a patch!
