Adobe Cs3!!

Finally got it in (Creative Suite Design Premium) and installed yesterday (company bought CS2 right before the CS3 launch, so I had to wait for my post-announce upgrade).

So psyched to have it finally loaded on the new system. So far, digging the improvements to the menus the most. Plus the speed of Photoshop since I'm on an Intel Mac.

Anyway, thought I'd share my good fortune.

I'm on a PC and I've noticed a definite improvement over CS2 in the speed of initial loading and in the general operation of the application - even after upgrading my camera, so I'm now handling 10 Mpx files instead of 8 Mpx.

I love the speed of the CS3 because i got my comp from my parents like 2 years ago and... well let's just say it's not a very fast one. And generally i can't afford to upgrade it and dad won't do it either. Thank god for the guys who made CS3 fast!

Well the floating pallets are still there, but the docking works a little differently now...

I find CS3 to be much faster too except when saving... seems to take longer there, and also I notice a slow down when I switch to the type tool... I'm thinking the streamlined efficiency has something to do with the font load...

I love some of the new features, and the enhancements to the old faithful tools... plus the new Black&White feature is wonderful...

Smart Guides were a brilliant addition... and of course, the interface, is just superb!

Mike.

Ah! I'm glad it's not just me that's noticed that. I'm guessing that now fonts only get loaded when you choose the Type tool, instead of at application initialization (as was the case with previous versions of PS).

May I know what your PC spec is?

I tried it with dual core 2.66 with 512M RAM and I find it slower than CS2 so i had to uninstall those and use the CS2.

So I am really interested in knowing your PC specs

If you're referring to the single-column toolbox in CS3, you can change it back to the more familiar double-column by clicking on the little double arrow icon at the top of the toolbox. Other than that, there is no difference between them (except for the CS3 toolbox having an extra tool - the Quick Selection tool).

I like the 1 row toolbox much more. It gives.. A feeling of lightness and weightlessness if you know what i mean. I just think it looks and handles better.

I agree - it gives you more room on the screen, too.

More room on the screen is key. especially when you are me and you are flipping back between documents and windows like there is no tomorrow.
