FedEx Logo - An interesting read

I "Stumbled" across this (hint hint Firefox users) and thought it was pretty interesting.

Kind of teaches a bit of a lesson too. This design firm created 200 different logos and concepts before whittling it down to the right direction and then still had several revisions of the top concepts. Design (for commercial use at least) is almost never a 1 cut process, most good designs can be improved if you take a step back from it and re-work things.

Anyway, here's the article. Enjoy:

Very interesting article, indeed.

While I haven't tried that plugin yet, I think I'll give it a go, see where I end up.

Perhaps this'll be the start of a "Stumble Here" thread?

Yeah Stumble-ing can be pretty addicting. I often do it just for inspiration.

Yeah! I love hidden stuff like that. I tried to do something hidden (but was nowhere near as tactful as the fedex guy) for a band logo:

Is it really obvious or what? heh

Very good article. The FedEx logo is definitely one of the most popular logos in the world and definitely something that's shown in schools.

I've got a lot of respect for the people that design major corporate logos... it's not as easy as you'd think... and at times it can _really_ stretch your patience with a client.

Makes you wonder how many times the design firm wanted to strangle the senior management.
