Help needed with screenshots.

Right to begin, I have never taken a screen shot, never found the need too, now I do, how do I go about it ,I thought it was press CTRL AND PRINTSCREEN and to open it in Photoshop press CTRL AND V is this correct, cos nothing happens when I try it.What am I doing wrong, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, take a screenshot by hitting the print screen key. Open photoshop, click file, new, hit Ok. Then press Control V.
