Tablet or Mouse?

Just wondering how many of you fellow artists use some type of tablet for drawing or writing.
I have a wacom intuis3 myself and couldn't live without it.
If you don't have a tablet maybe you have a performance laser mouse.

looking for everyone's feedback

-regards

I use a mouse, I wouldnt think of using anything else but a keyboard for writing, but there are some things that almost require a tablet drawingwise. I've seen a 1600 dpi mouse, but I just have a Wireless Logitech laser mouse that I bought specifically because I have photoshop on my laptop and a touchpad doesn't cut it.

I am definately a tablet person when it comes to drawing on the PC, I have attempted the mouse style quite a few times, but it never works out for me.

I always use a tablet if I'm using one of the "drawing"-type tools, such as the Pen Tool, Brush Tool etc. etc. - it just feels so much more natural, and if you set it up right in the Brushes palette you can get a lot more subtle effects than you ever could with a mouse.

I have never really contemplated a tablet, but I might now.

I cannot actually draw very well on the pc, but I can draw on paper with pencil and it gets frustrating not being able to do proper flow and curves etc.

I gave up on buying expensive mouses/mice after I broke a few playing Counterstrike. Don't slam opticals, they stop working. :/

I'd like a tablet, but I don't have the money. I'm fine with drawing things and scanning them for the moment, though I need to draw more I don't keep up on it. Everything else I do is really quite easy to do with a mouse.

I think a tablet is one of those gadgets that you can quite happily live without...until you get one. Then you can't imagine how you ever coped without one! A bit like a dishwasher...

It all depends on user pref.

Some people can draw freehand with a pen or pencil, but can't use a mouse, or tablet. Some people can use a mouse to draw but can't use a pen etc etc. Some people like myself like to sketch out a basic idea, scan it, touch it up with a tablet then edit it with a mouse lol

One thing I'm looking into is getting some pocket sized filofax digital paper and a digi pen to carry around with me. It stores tons of info and can be copied like a flash drive direct to photoshop or illustrator. Anyone else have these, or have tried them? They seem pretty cool

Currently I've only used a mouse. I'd love to get a tablet to try one out, but I'm skeptical as to if it would be useful to me. Most of my work is in page layout and compilations and I'm not much of a sketch artist.

Anyone use the tablet for things outside of Photoshop? And is there a tablet that works with PC and Mac without issues?

Well I can see how it could be useful for better detailed logos and such where you might want to "sketch " the logo instead of manipulate the points of the pen tool.

I have a Wacom tablet and have tried many many times to use it but I always ended up incredibly frustrated, so for me the mouse is just better.
I'm currently using a Macally iSweet boy mouse (not optical).
