I would think maybe it is because not everyone uses the resolution required, I personally use 800x600 (I know old school) But I have never had a web page prompt me to use a different resolution, I think that to do that every time you visit that site would be a bit of a pain. The site is nicely setup and everything is smooth though, I can give ya that much. Good job. and good luck getting people to join.

Well, I don't know for sure, but I'd guess it takes time to build up a membership base. With websites, it may well be a case of "if you build it, they will come", but that doesn't mean they're going to stick around. There are lots of forums (fora?) out there, so you need to ask yourself what makes yours different - what would make people want to become members?

well it's kinda dum to ask people from a big photoshop forum that's already known (biorust) to join your newly created forum. therefore i agree to tamlin. what makes yours stand out?

Hmm, I visited your website, and I found a few reasons why someone like me probably wouldn't join.
1. Typos. You had numerous typos and run-on sentences in the Index, History, and Tips and Tricks sections.
2. Way too much information on a single page. As a viewer, I dislike having to scroll to read information, especially the stuff that what you have on your index. Most of it is duh stuff (like, most people know how to navigate toolbars, for example). A good idea might be to cut down on the amount of explaining, and maybe running a news thing where you post recent news on photoshop (since you already went to the trouble of posting up the history).
3. What's up with the "optimized for windows explorer?" Why have this space filler?
4. The right column feels like a space filler. On my browser (mac safari, which you'll get a lot of, because many Mac users are artists), the google ads popped up over top of it, and when I realized there wasn't anything really there either, I just ended up leaving them there.
5. The whole website feels like a school assignment. It feels...plain, with its only unifying theme the color gray. Blah. Also, more images would be nice, especially for a photoshop website.
6. The forum has a completely different interface. It doesn't feel like a part of the website.
Okay, sorry for really busting your chops, but this is the stuff that I noticed just in the few minutes that I popped my head in. A good point is that everything is very clearly and plainly laid out, making it a good basis for growth. Good luck on your website!

Improved
I think since the last time i was here many things improved...
But some points most still be improved,
1.The header, the header should be a bit different i think...without the two dropping things beside it...more like those two things intergrated in the Header. And i would make it more a part of your site, now its like a stone thing while the rest of the site is metal/ grey...
2.Colors, change the color overlay to something more colorfould, i mean orange or green....or white and blue something like that. Something that isn't this dark.
3.The text, i know it's said before but you site is or not heigh enough or you got too much text there.
Oh and center the site....
I don't want to give you a smack in the face, but i do think those points are the one you should work on....I do think the rest looks better then it looked in the beginning so you made some good improvements but thoes points you still need to take!!

Hmm, i think the majority improved but some point have goten worse.....Like the color of the background, wich i think is way to bright or the center part you really should center the page!! O and maybe if you have the time make from the navbar one compleet thing not just some buttons.....
So, i hope this helps a bit in the "development" of your site!!
